Tea
Storage
Store tea in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place.
Tea
Brewing
Always start with fresh filtered water. Preheat the teapot. Measure
one slightly rounded “dinner teaspoon” per six ounces
of water. This is approximately 3 grams of leaves. The steeping
time and water temperature will vary with style of tea used.
Green
Tea 3-4 minutes 175-190 degrees
Oolong Tea 5-7 minutes 195 degrees
Black Tea 3-5 minutes Just off the boil
Herbal/Fruit Tisanes 7-10 minutes Just off the boil
Smaller
“broken leaf” teas brew quicker than large leaf teas.
Too long of a brew time will result in a bitter brew, so watch
the time! If you wish to have a stronger brew, add more leaves.
Do not extend the steeping time! |
